Interpretation:
IgG titer and IgM titer given individually. Approximately 30% of dogs and cats in the US have antibodies to T. gondii. A positive titer indicates exposure, but does not confirm infection nor clinical diagnosis. Tentative diagnosis requires demonstration of a high IgM titer (>256) or a fourfold (or greater) increase in IgG titer in 23 weeks.
